The name in at least some lines was Konoval in the mid-19th century but the modern form seems generally to be Konovalov. In the U.S. we find some Konovals as well but this could also result from dropping the ending in a process of Americanization.
Officially Agricultural Colony #13, known as "Der Vilner" or "Vilen" as the it was originally settled by colonists from the Vilna area, including Chervin and Konoval (later Konovalov) family members from Svir.
Entry 1.1.3.5 is based on a remark by made by Reuven Besitskii in a bigography of Vladimir Konoval that in 1890 Aryeh was living with three married sons at the Nadezhnaya colony. ("Моряк из колонии Надёжная"). It would not be at all surprising if there were more children besides. Our documents go as far as 1858.
Also from Svir:
Sholem Konoval, son of Isaak and Mere, died Aug. 18, 1917 at Panevezys (Kaunas
district). Born in Svir (Svyriai) about 1861, died aged 56.
For considerably more on this line see konoval02
The remaining documents concern Konoval lines which appear unconnected with the agricultural colonies. There are several around Berdichev and a few more in the far northeast and northwest - and also a lot in Bessarabia (Moldova), which we did not look at.
Note: Already in the 19th century this line switched to Konovalov as the family name.
Here we refer specifically to records of evacuation on or prior to February 1942. Four families were evacuated from Zaporizhia to Omsk in three groups. This specification of the point of evacuation does not give much further information. There is some employment information included that we do not understand which might cast further light on this. These come from a single large list in which both the families and the family members are numbered sequentially. Nationality for the families of interest is recorded as Jewish.

Records at Yad Vashem also show that Lyova Konovalov, from Zaporozhe, born 1911, and married to Fenya Lidman, died in combat in 1942, at Leningrad. This is apparently Lev Moisei referred to above.
