Pohulanka Street, later J. Basanaviciaus St.

J. Basanaviciaus

According to the Ellis Island immigration records for Lotte Cherlin, who immigrated under the name Lotta Gersof, her daughter Ruchel Tvia, listed as Ruchel Butkin, lived on Pohnlanka Street at 45/14 (Vilna). This should probably be Ruchel Bulkin of Pohulanka Street. The record is typed but presumably based on hand-written documents.

Pohulanka Street is now called J. Basanaviciaus Street, after a Lithuanian nationalist.

Source: correspondence between Stew Cherlin and Lithuanian authorities.
